Ph.D Student at Universidad de Alcalá (Madrid) preparing a thesis on the development of Information Sciences in Portugal through a bibliometric study on their communication practices (1989-2014).
Invited Lecturer at the History Department of FCSH-NOVA teaching courses on Bibliometrics and Information Ethics at the Master in Information Management and Curation, and Theory and Methodology of Information Science and Librarianship at the Master of Information and Documentation Sciences.
My research has been developing in two main areas: History of Portuguese Expansion, with special focus in religious history and dissemination of normative and pastoral texts written in the Jesuit missions of Goa; more recently, Information Science and Library Science, with increased interest in quantitative approaches to science communication, theoretical, methodological, historical and ethical issues on collecting and communicating information. I am also interested on the questions raised by the written cultural heritage, from the perspective of Cultural and Information History.
